GREENBELT, MD – May 19, 2017
Twice a year the Goddard Running and Orienteering Club at NASA Goddard in Greenbelt Maryland hosts a fun run and walk for all employees and government contractors to promote unity and healthy living. In May 2017 Telophase employees came together to compete against 476 people in the 2 mile fun run. Telophase won 1st place among all the contractor teams thanks to Andrey Zasorin who completed the race in 15:10. Andrey is a new Telophase employee and expressed his excitement for the event, “I’m very competitive in nature, so that’s why I took part in this run. It was well organized and I was surprised by the big crowd of participants.”
For some Telophase employees this was their first experience racing. They saw it as an opportunity to meet other Telophase employees and socialize outside the office while participating in some friendly competition. Kids from the Goddard Child Development Center also ran in the fun run and provided additional motivation for a Telophase employee, “Once the whistle blew I found myself racing to pass 4-year-olds. I was pleasantly surprised to see I can easily finish a 2k run and it was so much fun to socialize along the way.”
